[019]Zojo-ji Temple

Description

  • Located at the foot of Tokyo Tower, the large vermilion-painted main gate (Sangedatsumon) is a landmark.
  • There is also a large gate a little south of Zojo-ji Temple, which was the main gate used previously and is called Daimon. This is the origin of Daimon Station.
  • The inside of the main hall (dai-den) is open to the public every day, and you can also take photos of the large Buddha statue in the back.

Barrier-Free

Since it is a shrine, there is a threshold, but consideration has been taken by installing a board at the threshold to create a simple slope. However, the only way to the main shrine is by stairs.

The nearest stations are Shibakoen Station (Toei Mita Line), Onarimon Station (Toei Mita Line), and Daimon Station (Toei Asakusa Line / Toei Oedo Line). These stations are about 5 minutes walk.
The community bus from Roppongi also operate around Zojoji Temple. (Chiibus Azabu East Route)
